Our granddaughter and I celebrated our respective birthdays together in May - hers was Number 2 and  mine was Number 60. So much fun! Here are some photos. Eva with her dad on Pop Pop's "gween twactor" Eva with her new onezie - It reads, "Daddy says, No dating allowed, ever!"

Winter Wonderland

Horse tracks in the pristine white. A tree limb fell on the fence so they took the opportunity to pay us a visit.

A foot and a half of snow blankets Briarwood. Talk about beautiful!

A Great Holiday

This Thanksgiving Holiday was terrific. Our little brown house in the woods was full to overflowing with family, great food and resounding laughter. What fun! Here are a few photos of the Proctor clan. Aren't we a sight?

Summer 09

Here are a few new photos of the old homestead. Our "Bad" black cat, Bebe, our old (13 1/2) boxer, Jazz, the horses, and the house as it looks now. Plus a bonus shot of my purple Sportster.
I guess I need to write a romance about a woman who rides Harley's huh?

Writing Romance

In my spare time I like to write (romance, sci-fi, and fantasy) and our little house at Briarwood is a lovely place to do just that. I sit on the deck enjoying the sunshine and birdsong and watch the horses in the pasture while I ruminate about the next story line. I'd love to hear from all you wannabe writers out there hoping to write the next great American novel.

Meet the 4-legged residents of Briarwood

Briarwood is home to four Tennessee Walking Horses - Pepper, a twenty-two-year old gray; Augie, an eleven-year-old bay with one white sock; Smokey, an eleven-year-old black roan with a white blaze, one sock and one stocking; and Mickey, an eight year-old red and white paint - and to one enormous Belgian Draft - Molly.

Our New Home

On December 22, 2007, we finally spent our first night in our new home at Briarwood. It had been a very long wait since our initial attempt at building our dream house began in 2001.

Ground-breaking finally happened in June of 2007. Here's how things looked just after the trusses were set.

Here are a couple of shots after the brick was added.

This has been a very exciting, time-consuming, and energy-draining adventure, but one that has proven to be well worth the effort.

Now our little brown cottage in the woods is finished and we're in the process of moving in and making it our home.
